Everything you need to know about enrolling in a Medicare plan, renewing your policy or re-enrolling.
First-time enrollment. You can sign up for Medicare for the first time before you even turn 65. If you’re still working at age 65, you’ll need to sign up for Original Medicare (Parts A and B). You’re automatically enrolled if you’re already receiving Social Security. Three months before you turn 65, you’ll get your Medicare information in the mail.
Renew or re-enroll. The annual election period is from October 15, 2016 to December 7, 2016, Medicare Open Enrollment lets you enroll in a new program or change your coverage.
