Who is eligible?
You may be eligible for a subsidy or tax credit:
- If your employer doesn’t offer health insurance.
- If your employer offers health insurance but it doesn’t meet the Exchange requirements.
What kind of tax credits are available?
A tax subsidy is calculated based on income. Here are some examples for 2016 limits:
A family of 1 making $11,880 meets the minimum income level of 100 percent poverty level.
A family of 1 making $47,520 meets the maximum poverty level of 400 percent poverty level.
A family of 4 at 100% poverty level is capped at $24,300 (for 2016).
A family of 4 at 400% poverty level is capped at $97,200 (for 2016).
